The Story

Built for the businesses that got left behind by big tech.

Cody Marsh — Founder, Cody Care Consulting
Cody Marsh Founder & Lead Consultant

Most small businesses are paying for Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 every month — and using maybe 20% of what those platforms can do. Email, maybe a shared drive, and a spreadsheet that someone still fills in by hand.

That's the gap Cody Care Consulting was built to close. We take the tools you already have and turn them into actual systems — automations, document generators, app connections, and dashboards that run while you focus on your business.

No enormous IT contracts. No bloated software stacks. No consultants who hand you a slide deck and disappear. We build it, document it, walk you through it — and then it's yours.

"We bridge the gap between what AI can ideate and what actually runs in your business — with real code and real documentation."

Cody Care Consulting is led by Cody Marsh, a technical consultant based in North Carolina with hands-on experience across Google Apps Script, Microsoft Power Platform, Python automation, and API integrations. Prior to founding the practice, Cody built automation systems for franchise operations, law practices, and multi-location small businesses.

Our approach is opinionated: automation should be simple, documented, and maintainable. We don't build black boxes. Every project comes with a handoff — source code, documentation, and a walkthrough — so your team isn't dependent on us to keep it running.

We operate as a lean practice by design. That means lower overhead, faster turnaround, and a consultant who actually writes the code — not a junior sub-contractor two levels removed from the conversation.

How We Work

Principles we don't compromise on.

These aren't marketing language — they're how we actually operate on every engagement.

🔒

Least-Privilege Access

We only request permissions we need for the specific task at hand. Every access request is documented in writing before we start. Your data stays yours.

📋

Scoped Work, Not Scope Creep

Every project starts with a signed Statement of Work. You know exactly what's being built, the timeline, and the cost before any development begins.

📦

Full Handoff, Always

At close, you receive the source code, documentation, and a recorded or live walkthrough. The system belongs to you — not us.

🧰

No New Software Unless Necessary

We build inside the tools you already pay for. If we recommend a new tool, we explain exactly why and what it costs before adding it to the project.

Real Code, Not No-Code Lock-In

We write actual code — Google Apps Script, Python, Office Scripts, JavaScript. You can hire anyone to maintain it, or maintain it yourself.

Common Questions

Things people usually ask first.

Do I need to be technical to work with you?
Not at all. Our job is to handle the technical side so you don't have to. We ask you to describe the problem in plain language — what's slow, what's manual, what breaks — and we translate that into a working solution. We explain everything in terms that make sense to your business, not in code.
What if I don't know what I want to automate yet?
That's fine — and honestly common. The intake form is just a starting point. We'll schedule a brief discovery call to talk through your day-to-day operations and identify where automation would have the most impact. You don't need to arrive with a spec doc.
How long does a typical project take?
Quick Win projects (Sheets automations, Gmail workflows, simple scripts) typically complete in 3–7 business days. Build-Out projects (document generators, app integrations, custom tools) range from 1–3 weeks depending on complexity. We outline the timeline in your Statement of Work before starting.
Do you offer ongoing support or retainers?
Yes. After a project is delivered, many clients choose an ongoing retainer for maintenance, new automation requests, staff training, and admin support. Retainer terms are discussed after your first project is complete and you have a sense of the ongoing need.
What access do you need to my systems?
We follow a least-privilege model — we only request the specific permissions required for the task. All access requests are documented in the SOW before we begin. We never retain admin credentials after a project closes, and we document exactly what access was granted during the engagement.
What happens if something breaks after delivery?
Every project includes a post-delivery support window (typically 14 days) for bug fixes and adjustments at no additional charge. After that window, issues can be addressed under a support retainer or as a new scoped engagement. Because we provide full code documentation, any developer can maintain the system if needed.
